Shares

what is in a share?

One of the advantages of CSA is the variety of vegetables you can expect to eat over the course of a subscription. I have included a partial list in this brochure of what a CSA member can expect over the season. Some items you receive may be unfamiliar and some you may not like. Don’t worry: your share will be mostly familiar produce with a few exotic treats thrown in to keep you trying new things. The amount of produce you receive each week will be enough to feed a family of four who use vegetables as side dishes and some entrees, or two adult vegetarians.

The tag cloud to the left will give you an idea of the veggies from the seasons; however, these aren’t just the “common” varieties you find in the grocery store.  For instance, you might receive Zephyr squash (a lovely two-tone summer squash), one of the amazing heirloom sugar pumpkins, a very rare Blue Ballet squash, Cippolini onions, or the ever-so-cute Sheep-Nose Pimento pepper.

In addition to vegetables, you will get a newsletter each week to update you on the farm, and I will include home tested recipes to provide inspiration.  You can also use the search feature on the left for this website to hunt down recipes for all the veggies you’ll receive over the season.

how do I get a share?

Members receive shares each week. The exact start and finish of distribution will depend on the weather. I expect to start in early Spring and finish in late Fall. Shares will be distributed within a 100 mile radius of the farm. Members go to a distribution site to pick up their shares; shares will not be delivered to your door.

what does it cost?

Please see the Sign Up page for the most current brochure with prices.

how do I join?

The CSA is only open to a limited number of shares and these will be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please return the sign up sheet with your payment as soon as possible.
